Internationale Paderewski-Vereinigung zur Förderung der Polnischen Musik, Basel

The Society was established in 2000 in Basel under the name the Organisational Committee for I.J. Paderewski Celebrations in connection to the 80th anniversary of Paderewski's appointment as the first Polish representative at the League of Nations. In 2001, the name was changed to Paderewski World Festivities Committee 2001-2010 in Basel, and its branch was opened in Warsaw; currently, the society operates under the name: Die Internationale Paderewski-Vereinigung zur Förderung der Polnischen Musik, Basel. The main objectives of the Society include popularisation of Polish music and Paderewski's output abroad. To achieve this, the Society organises concerts and competitions on the knowledge on Paderewski, prepares radio broadcasts dedicated to Paderewski and other Polish composers as well as print publications. The founder and benefactor of the Society is Kazimierz Roman Czekaj Haag.
