155th anniversary of Ignacy Jan Paderewski's birth

November 6, 2015 marks the 155th anniversary of Ignacy Jan Paderewski's birth. Due to this occasion both in Poland and worldwide there are extraordinary concert and exhibitions organized to commemorate this distinguished artist and statesman. November is also abundant with a variety of cyclical events dedicated to Paderewski. In the days to come there will be the inauguration of:

In connection with the anniversary the Sejm of the Republic of Poland pays tribute to the great Pole, statesman, outstanding pianist and composer. The intensive work of Ignacy Jan Paderewski for the Homeland, in particular at the time when it was regaining independence – when he was in charge of the government, and during the time of fighting for freedom – when he became the head of the Polish parliament in exile during World War II, as well as the extensive philanthropic activity, make him one of the persons who rendered the greatest service to Poland, and who, with their life and actions, have gone down permanently in the history of our Homeland – says the resolution of 11 September 2015.
