Objectives and activities
Objectives:
- Broadening and disseminating knowledge about Polish music of the 19th and 20th century, with a particular focus on the achievements of I.J. Paderewski;
- Documenting activities associated with I.J. Paderewski;
- Taking care of I.J. Paderewski's private book collection;
- Promoting scientific and cultural activities.
These objectives are accomplished through the following activities:
- Inspiring and supporting research on the life and work of I.J. Paderewski and other 19th and 20th century Polish composers;
- Acquiring, collecting, and preparing autobiographical, biographical, and other critical materials related to the life and activities of I.J. Paderewski;
- Creating the catalogue of I.J. Paderewski's book collection and other collections of the Center (in the VTLS system);
- Executing queries and making the collections of the Center available for research and popularization purposes;
- Preparing a bibliography of publications on I.J. Paderewski;
- Managing a website;
- Offering a permanent biographical exhibition called Ignacy Jan Paderewski: A Portrait of the Artist and Statesman;
- Organizing discussions and lectures for visitors of the permanent exhibition in the Center;
- Cooperating with cultural and scientific institutions and organizations.
