Objectives and activities

Objectives:

  1. Broadening and disseminating knowledge about Polish music of the 19th and 20th century, with a particular focus on the achievements of I.J. Paderewski;
  2. Documenting activities associated with I.J. Paderewski;
  3. Taking care of I.J. Paderewski's private book collection;
  4. Promoting scientific and cultural activities.

These objectives are accomplished through the following activities:

  1. Inspiring and supporting research on the life and work of I.J. Paderewski and other 19th and 20th century Polish composers;
  2. Acquiring, collecting, and preparing autobiographical, biographical, and other critical materials related to the life and activities of I.J. Paderewski;
  3. Creating the catalogue of I.J. Paderewski's book collection and other collections of the Center (in the VTLS system);
  4. Executing queries and making the collections of the Center available for research and popularization purposes;
  5. Preparing a bibliography of publications on I.J. Paderewski;
  6. Managing a website;
  7. Offering a permanent biographical exhibition called Ignacy Jan Paderewski: A Portrait of the Artist and Statesman;
  8. Organizing discussions and lectures for visitors of the permanent exhibition in the Center;
  9. Cooperating with cultural and scientific institutions and organizations.
